Color Palettes For Your Home

Choosing the right color palette is one of the first decisions you must make when decorating a room.  I love starting by choosing hues that will define the different rooms in my home.  An easy way to start this process is by choosing neutral tones, an ideal palette for those who want a timeless look in their living spaces. When designing a space, it is also important to keep in mind the part of the world you live in, so you can keep the tones in context with your surroundings.  Living in a place with four seasons makes it fun and dynamic as it gives you the opportunity to play around with different accents and colors at different times of the year.

Here are three (3) tips that will help you choose the right color hue for your space:

1.    Neutrals: This is easily one of my most highly recommended; choose neutral tones as the base of your interior décor. I like to start by choosing the wall        colors and I personally prefer staying within the whites, grays and beige shades. You can’t go wrong with a neutral base.

2.    Darks: If you are looking to add depth and a more sophisticated look to your living space I would suggest adding dark colors into the mix.  This can be          accomplished by adding darker colored furniture, textiles and flooring etc… Depending on your comfort zone you can play with colors across the gray          spectrum, navy blue or if you are feeling confident and bold go with black.

3.    Accents: When it comes to accents, I love telling my clients to have fun with it. Don’t be afraid to add a pop of color to your space and always have                  different layers of texture.
